There are few things I love more than literary events. To this end, I founded the Daunt Books Festival in 2014, which was a sell-out, and continues to be an annual delight. I’m also delighted to be working with Persephone Books to create the first Persephone Festival, in April 2024.

I love interviewing writers and chairing events. Authors I’ve been lucky enough to share the stage with include: Tracy Chevalier, Philippa Perry, Tessa Hadley, Bart van Es, Olivia Laing, Susie Steiner, Samantha Ellis, Melissa Harrison and Sarah Perry. I regulary interview writers at The Owl Bookshop in Kentish Town, and at Daunt Books, Hampstead – hope to see you there!

I also talk about building communities around books, bookshops, and book clubs, and have hosted book clubs at venues such as the Southbank Centre and Asia House Literary Festival, as well as Emily’s Walking Book Club.

I am confident in broadcast journalism and have been interviewed on Radio 4’s The World Tonight, Ramblings, and The Radio 2 Arts Show. You can listen to my Backlisted podcast (what a thrill to be asked on!) about Natalia Ginzburg HERE, and I loved talking to The Church Times about Emily’s Walking Book Club and our walk discussing Ronald Blythe’s Akenfield for their books podcast, which you can listen to HERE.

You can check out my YouTube channel for my series of webcasts about Emily’s Walking Book Club books HERE.
